PUMPED

Rotiform excited to be back in Poland for Ultrace 2022

We topped off this year’s Ultrace with Premium.  ( Video below )

The annual Ultrace automotive show is sort of like Poland’s Super Bowl of stance. Except, instead of football, its real football. Which means soccer, and just like soccer, Ultrace is huge amongst European enthusiasts. Heck, it’s even held at Wrocław soccer stadium. Although a lot of us ham-fisted, square headed, Americans don’t quite get European football, there is nothing not to get about Ultrace. Hundreds of impeccable, centerfold worthy builds adorned the stadium grounds. Each vehicle was so well-thought out and planned, they almost act as a shrine to the capabilities of their platform – a flagbearer showing the potential of what each make and model can be transformed into.

This year, Rotiform’s presence was palpable… or I guess you can say… pumpable.

Rotiform is no stranger to Ultrace. Since the show’s conception in 2011, we have been there in one way or another: vending, judging, or just making participant’s rides look good. However, for the 11th iteration of the show we decided to pump up the octane… Oof. This year’s Rotiform display was inspired by the world-famous Wörthersee Shell petrol station. If you’re not familiar with this Shell station, it represents the commitment, sheer willpower, and lengths showgoers will endure for the sake of inclusion and showing off. The renowned petrol station is a historical landmark made popular by enthusiasts making the trip to Wörthersee. Need gas? Stop at Shell, post up, and get a few photos snapped of your ride. Chances are, you’ll end up on a few blogs across the world.

In an effort to bring the spirit of the famed Shell station to Poland, we built our own version. The Rotiform booth took its style cues from its predecessor and offered a place to showcase some incredible 911s, some real off-the-wall Volkswagens and the eccentric Group 5 BMW art car released last month at Players Classic . It even featured some real (non-functioning) Euro petrol pumps.

This year’s Ultrace was met with stellar weather, a huge turnout, and bountiful lineup of builds. Nearly 25,000 spectators graced the showgrounds over the weekend to admire the eclectic array of classic European staples and high end modified super cars. Not only does Ultrace showcase the craziest builds from across Europe, but the famous head-2-head, Top 16 battles returned for another year. Here, judges picked their favorite car in a head-to-head style knockout battle. The whole process is conducted via mobile app and the results are livestreamed on the big screen for attendees to witness.

The spectacle that is Ultrace isn’t only stationary show-queens and crazy daily drivers, 2022 saw the return of Next Level Drift. Hosted by Hert of Hoonigan, the motorsport component of Ultrace offered two days of non-stop drift action, providing showgoers a boost of adrenaline and rowdy antics to round out the event.

With another Ultrace in the books, we are reminded yet again of how inspiring and influential this show remains. With an inhibited, post-covid show season about halfway through, it’s incredible to see the resolution and determination of the Ultrace coordinators and organizers. It’s a “quality-at-all-cost” mindset that continues to raise the bar in lineup and attendance. Whether you’re an enthusiast, casual hobbyist, or even remotely interested in cars, Ultrace has enough to get even the most passive spectator’s pulse rate climbing.  Check out our recap below and relive the moments through the Rotiform lens.
